Roger Kebble now on his own in share manipulation trial
Roger Kebble now faces a share manipulation trial involving hundreds of millions of rands without co-accused Brett, his son, who was murdered this week in what police believe to be a botched hijacking.
A date for the trial has been set for October next year. A report in The Mercury says that although the National Prosecuting Authority said it was dropping its case against Brett, Roger, who was Bretts business partner, is still likely to face charges. He is to answer to 12 charges of fraud. The prosecutions alleges that the two manipulated shares to direct market demand in their favour about five years ago. Meanwhile, the SARS said that a number of Bretts tax assessments had not been settled and it would be taking an interest in his estate. Full Mercury report
