JournalistsÂ’ union to be wound up
The Johannesburg Labour Court has granted the country\'s oldest journalists\' union, the SA Union of Journalists, an order allowing its provisional liquidation, says a report on the Mail & Guardian Online site.
Labour Judge Musi gave interested parties until 10am on March 15 to state why he should not make the order final, after which a liquidator will be appointed to wind up the union\'s affairs. The union, founded in the 1920s, has in recent years become dysfunctional, although it still has trust funds with considerable assets. Full report on the Mail & Guardian Online site
