Free legal services offered to beaten woman
The Law Society of the Northern Provinces has offered free legal services to a woman allegedly beaten by the police.
A report on The Citizen site quotes the societys President, Mohammed Husain, as saying we are appalled by this incident of senseless brutality, the conduct of the police officials involved is reprehensible and must be condemned. Plainclothes police in Sunnyside, Pretoria, have been accused of assaulting the woman, a prostitute, on Tuesday night. Should the victim wish to pursue legal action against the police official involved, we will make an attorney available to her free of charge, Husain said. Full report in The Citizen
