* Five people will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court today in connection with the murders of Crazy Monkey – Straight Outta Benoni actor Brett Goldin and fashion designer Richard Bloom. They were found lying on their stomachs, naked, each with a bullet wound to the back of the head in a field, yesterday. – IoL

* Rosebank Mall in Johannesburg is suing hip-hop/kwaito musician Thulane Ncgobo, known as Pitch Black Afro, for malicious damage to property following an incident at the premiere after-party of Oscar award-winning movie Tsotsi in February. – News24 * President Thabo Mbeki has appointed senior Prosecutor Mokotedi Mpshe SC as Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions. The 39-year-old woman was caught allegedly with mandrax and cocaine stashed in her bags. – Pretoria News * DA Port Elizabeth Councillor and church Pastor, Nico du Plessis, has been released on bail of R1 000 after being arrested for allegedly raping a 46-year-old woman who worked with him at a support centre for abused women and rape victims. – The Herald * Msunduzi (Pietermaritzburg) Municipality spokesperson Brian Zuma appeared briefly in the Pietermaritzburg District Court last week on charges of tax evasion amounting to almost R100 000. – The Witness * A Court of Appeal in the UK has overturned the conviction of a couple accused of killing a three-year-old boy they wanted to adopt with a salt overdose. The couple will face a retrial. – The Guardian * The public has until May 15 to comment on the draft dispensing fee for pharmacists announced by Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang last month. – Business Day * Former Springbok James Dalton appeared in the Hatfield Community Court in Pretoria last week on charges of malicious damage to property and discharging a firearm.
