Corpcapital puzzled as report is withheld, and other brief reports

* The Ministry of Trade and Industry intends to oppose Corpcapital\'s application in the Pretoria High Court to have the state-commissioned report on corporate governance at the firm released. The report was completed in May and put on the desk of Trade and Industry minister Mandisi Mpahlwa in July. – Business Report

The court, headed by senior public prosecutor Barend Groen, will have a dedicated staff of six prosecutors, with Magistrate Hamilton Cele on the Bench. – The Mercury * Donovan Samuel Moodley (24), the man suspected of kidnapping and killing Johannesburg student Leigh Matthews, will appear in the Wynberg Regional Court, Johannesburg, on October 22 for a formal bail hearing. The date was set by a Randburg magistrate on Friday. Moodley’s lawyer said his client ‘will strongly deny that he is guilty’. – News24 * The Port Elizabeth Magistrates’ Court has found policeman, Sergeant Stephen Witbooi, not guilty of culpable homicide in connection the death of a four-year-old boy. Witbooi blacked out while driving his car after an overdose of tablets and killed the boy. – The Herald
