Alleged serial killer claims confession was forced
A suspected serial killer and rapist has claimed that police applied electric shocks to his body and assaulted him to force him to implicate himself in several crimes, according to a report in The Star.
Sipho Dube (30), of Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, has pleaded not guilty in the Johannesburg High Court to 41 counts, including seven of murder, four of rape, six indecent assault, 17 of kidnapping, three of aggravated robbery, and escaping from lawful custody. Dube was testifying in a trial-within-a-trial in which he was challenging the admissibility of statements he had made to the police. Full report in The Star
