Lawyer suspended

Publish date: 19 September 2019

Diary: Legalbrief Forensic
Category: General

* A lawyer with ‘no sense of shame’ and ‘no respect for the administration of justice... or this court’ has been suspended from practising pending a decision on his removal from the roll of attorneys. This was the ruling of Gauteng High Court (Pretoria) in the case of Hermanus Johannes Wessels Bothma, of Bothma Incorporated. According to the LSNP’s founding affidavit, listed among several complaints was that Bothma practised without a Fidelity Fund Certificate and failed to properly account – or answer to queries in this regard – for monies received from the Road Accident Fund.
