Prince Harry highlights conservation in Africa

Caring about conservation should not be dismissed as ‘hippie’, Britain’s Prince Harry said as he issued a rallying cry for humankind to overcome greed, apathy and selfishness if it wanted to guarantee its survival on the planet. A report in The Herald notes that Harry’s impassioned words came ahead of his visit last week to highlight conservation and anti-poaching projects in Malawi. He warned of vast ecosystems set ablaze in Africa and communities destroyed for short-term gain, and said a natural order between humans and wildlife had to be restored. The Duke of Sussex visited the Liwonde National Park in Malawi – the eighth day of a royal tour undertaken with his wife, Meghan, and son Archie. Harry has challenged climate change deniers and is increasingly making conservation a cornerstone of his public work. Ironically, he recently acknowledged ‘no-one is perfect’ after being criticised for his private jet use.
