Former Chief Magistrate in the dock

Zimbabwe's graft-accused former Chief Magistrate claims female magistrates are being sexually harassed. In papers before the Hight Court (Harare), Mishrod Guvamombe states that the graft accusations 'are trumped up (charges), all motivated by malice on the part of his erstwhile colleagues who are being vindictive after (being) reprimanded on different occasions for committing sexual harassment on female members of staff, including magistrates’. New Zimbabwe reports that Guvamombe is accused of abusing his powers after he offered internships to former Cabinet Ministers Supa Mandiwanzira and Saviour Kasukuwere at the Harare Civil Court despite knowing that they had pending criminal cases. The two were studying law at the time. Guvamombe is also accused of defeating the the ends of justice by allegedly interfering in a case involving a business partner's son.
