Zimbabwean MP Joanah Mamombe remains in custody after Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa denied her bail application and advised her to approach the High Court. Mamombe who was arrested over the weekend while in Nyanga was remanded in custody to the 19 March. A report on the allAfrica site notes that she is accused of subverting a constitutional government. Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition chairperson Rashid Mahiya and Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Union officials Peter Mutasa and Japhet Moyo are facing the same charges arising from the January national shutdown protests that turned violent.
