General’s ex-wife charged with gun theft
Jocelyn Mauchaza has appeared before a Harare magistrate charged with stealing firearms from her former husband, General Constantine Chiwenga, who is commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Force. However, the case was postponed because Chiwenga, who was occupied with ‘national affairs’, failed to appear. New Zimbabwe reports that prosecutor George Manokore said Chiwenga reported his former wife to the police after finding three weapons missing from a cabinet at his Borrowdale mansion in April, 2010. He subsequently left Jocelyn for former model Mary Mubaiwa who now runs the scandal-plagued Miss Zimbabwe pageant which received significant support from t the army, according to the report.
