Widespread looting continues
Looting has continued in Nigeria with protestors targeting government warehouses holding Covid-19 aid in Abuja. Looters in the Gwagwalada suburb removed rice, noodles and sugar among other items. State governors said the items were kept in preparation for a possible second wave of coronavirus infections. BBC News reports that the federal government has been accused of misappropriating Covid-19 funds. Almost one third of Nigeria's 36 states and the capital have seen stores attacked by looters. Authorities in the northern state of Adamawa said five people had died at a stampede during the looting of a store there.
