Leading advocate succumbs to Covid-19
Advocate Terry Price SC, a well-known lawyer who defended convicted wife killer Christopher Panayiotou, has died of Covid-19 related complications, reports News24. In a statement to members of the Eastern Cape Society of Advocates, Olav Ronaasen SC said Price had ‘fought a courageous battle over the past three weeks while in ICU’. Ronaasen described Price as a passionate advocate in his representation of his clients. 'He had a phenomenal knowledge of criminal law and procedure. He was a loyal Bar man and gladly shared his knowledge with junior colleagues,’ the chairperson of the Bar said. ‘Terry loved life and sport in particular. Rugby was his first love, with cricket a close second.’
