Kenyan televangelist James Ng’ang’a has been arrested over threats he allegedly made to prominent journalist Linus Kaikai. Last week, the controversial preacher released a sensational video clip in social media issuing threats against the journalist who had criticised rogue preachers and called for regulation of the religious sector, including a requirement for clerics to have degrees or diplomas. Ng’ang’a was arrested on Sunday night and is being questioned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The Daily Nation reports that Kaikai, the director of strategy and innovation at Royal Media Services confirmed that he had filed an official complaint with the DCI. ‘We are dealing with thieves, not men of God.
