Judge blocks firm’s hiring process

Swaziland’s Industrial Court has suspended all hiring at the Swaziland Electricity Company (SEC) after an employee filed an urgent application after she was allegedly sidelined. The Times of Swaziland reports that Tevangeli Dlamini, who is the accounts officer for the Lubombo region, claims the SEC effectively made her position redundant by adding requirements she did not possess. An advertisement for the post said applicants must have a degree in commerce, accounting or marketing. The interim order was handed down by Justice Dumisani Mazibuko.
