The bail application hearing of former Global Fund employee Simataa Simasiku who allegedly shot a former colleague dead and wounded another in Windhoek in January, was last week postponed to 29 April pending further police investigations. The Namibian reports that Simasiku's Legal Aid-funded lawyer Henry Shimutwikeni and prosecutor Rowan van Wyk agreed on the postponement. He will remain in custody at the Windhoek Correctional Facility until then. Simasiku allegedly walked into the company's Windhoek offices and shot the victims. Director Sarah Mwilima (58) died instantly while colleague Ester Nepolo was wounded. Simasiku handed himself over to police shortly afterwards. The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
