A Nigerian senator who assaulted a woman in a sex toy shop in Abuja has apologised, saying ‘I have never been known or associated with such actions in the past.’ This after CCTV footage which showed Elisha Abbo striking a shop assistant was published by the online newspaper Premium Times. Police are investigating the incident while the Senate has set up a committee to probe the matter.
