An SANDF contingent has arrived in Mozambique’s troubled Cabo Delgado Province. A military aircraft has been seen offloading soldiers, military vehicles and equipment. The troops are believed to be special forces who will form part of the SADC’s standby force. A report on the News24 site notes that the force was meant to deploy on 15 July, but Mozambique had failed to sign a status of forces agreement that would authorise regional boots on the ground.
