This edition of Acta Juridica celebrates Professor Chuma Himonga's impactful contributions to customary law and family law discourse. Himonga, a distinguished NRF-rated researcher, held the SARChI Chair in Customary Law, Indigenous Values and Human Rights at the University of Cape Town. She received the Alan Pifer Research Award in 2016 for her outstanding research benefiting South Africa's disadvantaged.
