A policeman was last week stoned to death during clashes between pro- and anti-government protesters ahead of President Peter Mutharika's first public meeting since Malawi's disputed election. Mutharika later stuck a conciliatory tone, urging the country to unite. 'Let's not burn it down,' he said.
