A Kenyan court has suspended the deportation of four Chinese nationals who were detained after video footage showed one of them assaulting an employee who had arrived late for work. The suspects were arrested on 9 February when detectives raided their Nairobi restaurant. The East African reports that the man caught on video caning the employee is a chef but he does not have a work permit. Footage of the assault has gone viral on social media. BBC News reports that Interior Minister Fred Matiang signed the deportation order after a court had allowed police to detain the four individuals for 15 days.
