No respite for axed executive

An attempt by the dismissed CEO of the Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund to stop the implementation of a decision to axe her from her position has failed in the Windhoek Labour Court. Acting Judge Kobus Miller ruled that Hilya Nghiwete's application did not meet the requirements to be heard on an urgent basis. The Namibian reports that Nghiwete asked the court to order that the dismissal should not take effect until a complaint that she filed at the Office of the Labour Commissioner has been dealt with. The court heard that following her suspension, she was charged in a disciplinary hearing which has not yet been concluded.
