Nigerian ‘Isis’ children returned

Kurdish authorities in northeast Syria last week handed over three siblings linked with Isis to Nigeria, the first such repatriation to the African country. Fanar Kaeet, a Kurdish foreign affairs official said the girl and two boys aged between five and 10 had lost both parents. A report on the News24 site notes that Nigerian Government representative Musa Habib Marika said he has approached the foreign relations department at the Kurdish administration for a list of Nigerians and Africans in their custody. ‘As for Nigerian (Isis) fighters, the Nigerian Government will look into this,’ Marika said in response to a question as to whether his country had any plans to repatriate combatants.
