1: Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu will from today place a three-month ban on Ministers and other government officials from publicly funded overseas travel. This is aimed at curbing government spending on foreign trips. It follows Tinubu's concerns regarding the escalating costs associated with such trips by public officials. His chief of staff highlighted the necessity of the move against the backdrop of mounting travel expenses incurred by the government.

1: Liberia’s Asset Recovery Taskforce will hear the outcome from a hearing after the Supreme Court on Thursday ordered it to release all vehicles seized during its recent operation. The court also instructed the task force not to carry out any further pending seizure, until this weekend’s conference in a Writ of Prohibition filed by the Management of Gracious Ride Incorporated.

2: Six years since her passing, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela will be honoured in song by a handful of musicians at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg. Dubbed Legends Never Die, the musical tribute directed by Clive Mathibe will feature Zöe Modiga, Brenda Mntambo, Langa Mavuso and acclaimed poet Napo Masheane (Johannesburg).

2: Bassirou Diomaye Faye (44) is due to be sworn in as Senegal's youngest President after his win in last month’s elections (Diamniadio).

* US singer Monique Bingham has been forced to call off her Southern African tour for health reasons. The tour was set to start on Good Friday and see her perform throughout the first week of April. Bingham has worked with Black Coffee and Oskido.
