Namibian CEO sidelined for 'assisting' SA fugitive

National Fishing Corporation of Namibia (Fishcor) acting CEO Paulus Ngalangi has been sidelined after he allegedly transported a South African fugitive who tested positive for Covid-19 into Namibia. Ngalangi has been Fishcor's general finance manager since April 2015. The Namibian reports that Public Enterprises Minister Leon Jooste said: 'I've instructed for his appointment to be withdrawn immediately'. Police Commissioner David Indongo said the fugitive arrived in Namibia on 12 June by crossing the Orange River in a canoe with the assistance of a police officer, before being assisted by Ngalangi to proceed to Windhoek. He added that both men are in quarantine. Police this year interviewed Ngalangi as part of their investigations in the Fishrot graft scandal.
