Nairobi hospitals stocking expired drugs – report

The Nairobi Health Department has come under fire for allowing county hospitals to stock expired drugs and non-pharmaceuticals. This revelation is contained in a report presented to the Nairobi County Assembly Public Accounts Committee. It singles out the Mbagathi County Hospital – one of the four major hospitals in the county – for stocking expired pharmaceuticals valued at $13 500. Nairobi News reports that most of the stock was supplied by the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency.
