The Moroccan Parliament last week passed a law legalising the production of cannabis for medicinal and industrial uses. BBC News reports that the aim is to tap into a growing global market, boost agriculture and create jobs in underdeveloped rural areas. The North African state is one of the world's biggest producers of cannabis for recreation use. This will remain illegal in terms of the new legislation.
