SA Minister upbeat about extradition of major suspects
Justice Minister Thembi Simelane is confident about a ruling this month on SA’s bid to extradite two suspects in the murder of rapper Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and celebrity chef Tebello Motsoane, from eSwatini. The two were gunned down at a restaurant in February last year, reports EWN. Seven suspects were subsequently arrested, including Siyabonga and Melusi Ndimande who were detained in eSwatini. SA is now trying to get them sent home to stand trial. The Manzini Magistrate's Court is expected to rule on the bid to extradite the Ndimandes on 16 August. Simelane is confident about the outcome. ‘We have a very good relationship with the people of eSwatini, the government of eSwatini. They’ve actually been very helpful in that case.’ She also says they’re making progress in their efforts to extradite self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, and are hoping for an outcome in September.
