Minister condemns 'unholy marriages'

Home Affairs Minister Frans Kapofi has condemned foreign nationals who marry Namibians to gain citizenship. 'What is your agenda? Our country is not for sale. We have gone through thick and thin to be where we are today,' he said. The Namibian reports that the Ministry recorded a total of 6 512 marriages from 2016 to 2017 of which 440 were Namibians who married foreign nationals. Angolans, South Africans and Zimbabweans topped the list of foreign nationals marrying Namibians.
