Central Bank Governor resigns
President George Weah has accepted the resignation of Liberia's Central Bank Governor Nathaniel Patray following ongoing investigations over his alleged role in misallocation of state funds, including $25m meant to ease inflation. BBC News reports that Weah had previously announced his plan to replace Patray, a decision criticised by many who wanted the governor to remain in office until the investigations are concluded. Patray has denied any wrongdoing. Weah 'profoundly' thanked Patray for his services.
