A Zimbabwe court has sentenced a serial rapist to 72 years in prison. Charles Chigombedze, who terrorised women in the Chivi district, was arrested on Monday last week and he appeared in the Masvingo Regional Court on Wednesday. Police said they found a machete and a pair of handcuffs when they searched his home. A report on the IoL site notes that he confessed to raping more than 10 women over the past two years. He reportedly urged Magistrate Davidzo Malunga to sentence him to death.
