Lawyer withdraws from Windhoek murder trial

A lawyer representing two Americans accused of murdering 25-year-old Namibian Andre Heckmair in Windhoek on 7 January 2011 has withdrawn from the case.

The trial of Kevan Townsend and Marcus Thomas was scheduled to be presided over by Judge Christie Liebenberg in the Windhoek High Court from 8 October. The Namibian reports that Vetu Uanivi confirmed that he has withdrawn from the case which was postponed to Wednesday for a pre-trial hearing. Full report in The Namibian
