Kenya’s Parliament has deferred a vote on a controversial gender equity Bill to 2019 after too few MPs turned up to vote.BBC News reports that it is the fourth time that the vote on the Bill, which seeks to increase the number of women representatives in the National Assembly, has been delayed. Despite the Constitution stipulating that no more than two-thirds of any elected or appointed body can be of the same gender, women only hold 22% of seats in Parliament.
