Kenyan man to testify in Boeing lawsuit

A Kenyan man who lost five relatives in the 10 March Ethiopian Airlines tragedy says he is preparing to testify in a compensation case against aircraft manufacturer Boeing. ‘I just got a confirmation from the law firm representing me that I should get ready to travel (to the US) ahead of the hearing in October,’ John Karanja told The Nation. He said his three children will accompany him and that they are also expected to testify. Karanja lost his wife Ann Wangui, daughter Caroline and grandchildren Ryan Njoroge, Kelly Paul and Ruby Paul when the aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. His kin were on their way from Toronto to Nairobi. ‘I am empty. I feel I should have been on that plane with them. My life has no meaning. It is difficult for me to think of anything else but the horror they must have felt,’ he said. In July, Karanja's son-in-law Paul Njoroge testified before Congress about the tragedy.
