A 23-year-old woman has been found guilty by a Kampala court after she staged her own kidnapping to test her husband's love for her. Prosecutor, Lydia Batiibwe asked the court to hand down a severe sentence, asserting that cases of self-kidnap were on the increase. Magistrate Patrick Talisuna sentenced her to one year in jail or an $80 fine.
