Inquiry into prison death of Danish mutilator

The Danish weapon dealer who made headlines when nine clitorises were found in his Bloemfontein freezer has died. Volksblad reports that Peter Frederiksen collapsed in prison last Sunday. He was serving two life sentences imposed by the Free State High Court. Frederiksen conspired to murder his wife in Lesotho and raped a minor girl. Souith African Police spokesperson Brigadier Mothantsi Makhele said an inquest has been opened into his death. Makhele says it is alleged prison officials were conducting a search operation in some of the cells when Frederiksen was found on the floor. He is suspected to have died of natural causes, but the inquest will be held to ascertain what transpired.
