Harare targets environmental pollution

The Zimbabwean Government will soon start prosecuting individuals and organisations for environmental pollution as it seeks to curb the outbreak of diseases such as cholera which has claimed more than 50 lives. New Zimbabwe reports that this was confirmed by Environment and Tourism Minister Prisca Mupfumira who has also called for the phasing out of plastic products in the country in line with global trends. ‘Our Constitution provides the environmental rights which every person should enjoy by living in a clean, safe and healthy environment,’ Mupfumira said.
