Harare businessman in court on drug charges
A Harare businessman appeared in court after US$18 000 cocaine was allegedly found stashed in his upmarket Borrowdale home. Police also recovered drug processing and packaging equipment during the raid. Tafungiswa Jasi, who owns Pringle Technical Engineering and Pringle Haulage Company, appeared before Magistrate Vongai Guuriro charged with unlawfully dealing in narcotics. New Zimbabwe reports that the 52-year-old was remanded in custody until 19 May after prosecutor George Manokore argued he was a flight risk. 'Investigations are still under way and releasing him would jeopardise the interests of justice,' he argued.
