A French national is among six people arrested on suspicion of involvement in a plot to kill President Andry Rajoelina in Madagascar. His adviser, Patrick Rajoelina, told Reuters that two of the six suspects had previously worked in the French military. A report on the News24 site notes that he said unspecified measures had been taken to tighten the President's security: ‘The evidence is tangible and we certainly do not take this lightly.’ Attorney-General Rodellys Randrianarison said the arrests were made following a lengthy investigation. The French Foreign Affairs Ministry said it had been informed of the French nationals' arrests and that they could get consular help if they asked for it.
