Egyptian lawmaker addresses son’s US arrest
A prominent Egyptian lawmaker has broken her silence about her son who has been charged with double murder in California. The Egypt Independent reports that Minister for Immigration & Expatriates' Affairs, Nabila Makram, said on her family is facing an ordeal and asked people to pray for them as well as for the victims. The Orange County's District-Attorney says 26-year-old Ramy Fahim, who is being held without bail, is facing the death penalty for stabbing to death a co-worker on 19 April. In her statement, Makram said ‘this accusation is being overseen before an American court, and a conclusive ruling has not yet been issued’.
