Dutch victims may face paedophile in Nairobi court

A foreigner facing abuse charges in Nairobi was jailed in his home country on similar charges, an investigation has revealed. When Dutch national Hans Dieter stands trial in April two persons of interest hope to be present in the courtroom. Eustacia and her cousin Suzana (their surnames have been withheld) are fundraising and planning to fly to Kenya ahead of the trial. They told the Nairobi News that they are among the suspect’s 182 alleged abuse victims. Eustacia, now 35, said she was molested when she was just seven. ‘Because of my age, I thought these things had no importance and I saw no need to raise an alarm about them,’ she said. When Dieter was arrested in 1995 in the Netherlands, she approached the authorities. He was sentenced to three years in prison and served 30 months. Kenyan police say the 66-year-old molested three minors aged eight, nine and 10 years in 2016.
