Three Congolese doctors have been arrested in the DRC in connection with the killing of a WHO medic. Senior military prosecutor Lieutenant-Colonel Jean-Baptiste Kumbu said Cameroonian doctor Richard Mouzoko was shot dead in April at a hospital in Butembo where he was treating Ebola patients. His funeral was attended by the organisation’s top officials. BBC News reports that the motive for the attack is unclear. Kumbu said militiamen involved in attacking treatment centres had implicated four doctors in planning the raids. He said the three Congolese doctors would be prosecuted for ‘terrorism’ and ‘criminal conspiracy’ while a fourth doctor was still at large.
