Dirco intervenes in Croatian assault case

The Department of International Relations & Cooperation (Dirco) assisted a SA woman and her minor son to leave Croatia after a video of alleged abuse reached it via social media platform X. News24 reports that the video, posted on Sunday, shows a woman sitting on the floor, crying hysterically, saying she and her son had been attacked by a man and his children. Dirco spokesperson Clayson Monyela, who was tagged in the video by a social media user, said ‘I immediately sought to establish contact with her’. Monyela said the son was born in Croatia and was not registered as a SA citizen. As a result, a visa would be arranged for the child to travel to SA with his mother.
