The Maasai are famous for their striking red robes and rich traditional culture. Young Maasai men between the ages of 15 and 30 are known as moran, or ‘warriors.’ Moran live in isolation in unpopulated wilderness areas. During their time as moran, young Maasai men learn tribal customs and develop strength, courage, and endurance.
