Date set for decision on probe of judges
The Supreme Court has set 9 May as the date for judgment in a matter in which the Lusaka High Court halted proceedings of a tribunal appointed by President Michael Sata to investigate alleged misconduct of three judges, notes a Times of Zambia report.
It says this is in a case in which Supreme Court Judge Phillip Musonda, two High Court judges, Nigel Mutuna and Charles Kajimanga, have dragged the Attorney-General to court. The three are asking the court to quash Sata's decision to constitute a tribunal over their alleged misbehaviour or incompetence. But in her ruling, High Court judge Fulgence Chisanga granted the trio leave to seek judicial review, effectively staying Sata's decision to appoint a tribunal. Full Times of Zambia report
