Concern over fatal bomb attacks

Nigeria’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has condemned the loss of lives following the suicide bombing in Borno State, and the explosion in Kano over the weekend. Abbas describing them as gruesome and barbaric, according to the Voice of Nigeria. In a statement, the Speaker decried the rising spate of attacks and fatalities from various incidents across the country in recent times. He called on security and intelligence agencies to remain vigilant at all times. On Friday, a female suicide bomber detonated an improvised explosive device at a crowded fish market in Borno State, killing 12 people and injuring 18 others. According to the Borno State Police Command, the attacker had infiltrated a group of civilians before triggering the device. On Saturday, in Kano State, a military mortar bomb exploded along the Eastern Bypass in Kano, the state capital, resulting in the deaths of five individuals. Abbas called for collaborative efforts between the government, its agencies, and the public to ensure the safety of lives and property.
