Zimbabwean businessman Genius Kadungure, detained on fraud charges relating to the declaration of the luxury vehicle he imported from SA, has been granted bail. A report on the IoL site notes that Kadungure, who is based in Johannesburg, purchased the Bentley Continental last year for R3.2m but allegedly persuaded the clearing agent to value the vehicle for R1.9m. As a result, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority allegedly charged him duty of R270 000 instead of R490 000. Nehanda Radio reports that High Court Judge Justice Erica Ndewere ordered Kadungure to submit the title deeds to his house as part of the bail conditions.
