Five armed robbers, some of them on Zimbabwe’s most wanted list, were killed in a shoot-out with detectives on Friday. Two survived and were arrested. The Herald newspaper reported that the group had allegedly robbed unidentified businessmen of US$220 000. The gang was allegedly based in SA and would only cross into Zimbabwe for ‘special assignments’ before travelling back to its base. A report on the IoL site notes that four illegal firearms and ammunition were recovered.
