UK man jailed for tsunami fake e-mails

A British man has been sentenced to six months in prison for sending e-mails to relatives of people missing after the tsunami disaster.

Chris Pierson pleaded guilty to charges of malicious communication and causing a public disturbance, reports The Telegraph. He had sent more than 35 e-mails, apparently from the Foreign Office in Thailand, to worried relatives of people missing after the disaster that claimed to be confirmation that the missing person was in fact dead.
