Angola’s National Assembly has unanimously approved the Surveillance Cameras Bill which aims to aid the defence and security forces to identify criminals and ‘safeguard tranquillity and public security’. A report on the allAfrica site notes that the legal instrument which was approved by Cabinet in May was discussed in the Parliament’s eighth extraordinary plenary session. In the same session, MPs approved several draft laws relating to the protection of victims, witness and defendants.
